This year, Para Space celebrated a significant milestone — our 45th year serving the Lower Mainland. To honor this achievement, we came together at our annual Para Space picnic, enjoying time to relax and have fun with our team, friends, and families. The picnic held special meaning this year as we celebrated our 45th anniversary surrounded by loved ones. With a tiki theme, many embraced tropical outfits while enjoying food and drinks served from our Para Space camper-turned tiki-bar.

Over the course of our anniversary month, we celebrated many members of our team and highlighted what Para Space means to them.

Since 2000…

Para Space has hosted picnics for our staff since 2000 in some of BC’s most beautiful parks, including Barnet Marine Park, Blue Mountain Park, Central Park, and Trout Lake Park. Over the years, this tradition has become a favorite among our team.

In its early days, the picnic was an informal gathering, without the games and prizes we have today. But as our team grew, so did the event. We introduced the Para Space Olympics—a series of fun team games that have become a cherished tradition. What started with tug-of-war evolved into races and relays, offering a fun way to build relationships and foster teamwork. Though everyone competes to win, every member of our team takes home a prize!

The Para Space picnic is not the only fun event we host for our staff. We host numerous events throughout the year like our annual staff summit and give pack to our community through projects like our days of service.
