Para Space Hosts Record-Setting Client Open House for Property Managers and Strata Councils

Para Space recently hosted its most successful client open house to date, welcoming more than 100 property managers, strata council members, building managers, and prospective clients to our Burnaby office. The event marked our highest attendance yet and reinforced the growing demand for professional, long-term commercial landscape maintenance in Metro Vancouver.

With strong engagement throughout the day and overwhelmingly positive feedback, the open house highlighted the importance of transparency, education, and proven results in today’s competitive property management environment.

Showcasing Real-World Commercial Landscaping Expertise

The event featured a series of interactive, staff-led stations focused on real properties Para Space maintains across the Lower Mainland. Each presentation showcased practical solutions to common landscape challenges faced by strata corporations, commercial properties, and mixed-use developments.

Attendees had the opportunity to speak directly with the landscape professionals responsible for maintaining their sites, gaining insight into how proactive planning, consistent service, and technical expertise protect property value over time.

Boulevard Turf Conversion and Sustainable Landscape Solutions

At this station, guests were walked through the complete process of transforming failing boulevard turf into healthier, more attractive, and lower-maintenance landscapes. Using real examples from a property we maintainm, Avila, the presentation demonstrated how Para Space addresses issues such as:

  • Poor drainage and soil compaction
  • Pet damage and high-traffic wear
  • Turf decline and weed pressure

The case study also highlighted how projects are designed to meet City bylaws, safety requirements, and long-term maintenance goals, helping strata councils and property managers make informed, sustainable decisions.

The Real Cost of Low-Cost Landscape Maintenance

This case study examined another property we maintain called 41 West, where the strata temporarily switched from Para Space to a lower-cost landscape provider. Within a short time, the site experienced significant decline due to reduced service levels, poor communication, and the absence of a structured maintenance program.

Common issues included overgrown weeds, neglected plant material, blocked walkways, and emerging pest problems. When the strata returned to Para Space, restoring the landscape required two full weeks of intensive remediation, including bed cleanouts, weed control re-establishment, plant health recovery, and green roof rehabilitation.

The presentation clearly illustrated how deferred maintenance and short-term cost savings can result in higher long-term expenses and ongoing site challenges.

Rooftop Landscape Upgrades for High-Density Properties

This case study focused on the successful rooftop landscape upgrade our team accomplished at The Rise Apartments, a heavily used residential building with complex access constraints. Guests learned how Para Space:

  • Replaced deteriorating wooden planters with durable materials
  • Corrected layout and functionality challenges
  • Managed crane-only access above a narrow, high-traffic street

Through detailed planning, design review, and coordination, Para Space streamlined the project scope and helped the client save more than $100,000 by avoiding unnecessary work. The completed rooftop now features custom aluminum planters, concrete seating, refreshed soils, and revitalized planting areas, and delivered on a tight schedule with minimal disruption to residents.

The Para Space Difference in Commercial and Strata Landscaping

Beyond the technical expertise, the open house reflected what clients consistently refer to as the Para Space Difference. Guests enjoyed a welcoming, professional atmosphere with food, games, prizes, and meaningful one-on-one conversations with our team.

From first impressions to final discussions, the event emphasized relationship-driven service, accountability, and a genuine commitment to supporting properties for the long term.

Our team thanks everyone who attended and looks forward to continuing these conversations with property managers and strata councils across Metro Vancouver.
