Respirator Fit Testing

Safety is always a priority at Para Space. Every year our respirators are fit tested for all staff who have one. This includes replacing all filter parts of the respirator and training on proper use and storage. Fit testing is conducted in an enclosed tent. Each staff member puts on their respirator making sure to do a proper seal test. When the seal test is complete, they enter the enclosure where a non-toxic, irritant smoke is released across the bottom of the respirator for one minute. If at any time they can taste or smell anything getting by the respirator, it will be closely examined and fixed. The intent is for all staff to pass the fit test to ensure their safety during any chemical inhalation exposure.
